The technique is a combination of two different features: the power burst curve (PBC) and the acceleration of target. A CW Radar was used to calculate the spectrum of the moving\/falling elder using Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT). The long time series of raw radar is separated in to short enough time intervals so that the velocity could be considered approximately constant. This idea is similar to approximating a non-linear curve with a staircase.
