\u2924<\/a><\/strong> Incorporation of Battery Units in Zero Energy Buildings: A Case Study<\/h2><\/span>
This paper discusses the incorporation of battery units in modern Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs), on the path toward a more energy-efficient building sector in the EU. In more detail, the ZEB concept and its benefits in terms of environmental footprint are discussed, along with its impact on electrical distribution grids. In this context, the incorporation of battery units is regarded as a tool to tackle power quality and protection issues raised due to the mass ZEB transformation. In addition, the efficacy of the most popular design tools for ZEB energy production is assessed, in light of batteries installations. In this initial work, a typical case study is considered, highlighting the benefits (and the technical limitations) of their incorporation.<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
